Posted - 04/23/2013 : 09:29:51 Saw the Pens vs Sens last night. That was likely the worst reffing I've seen in a long time. Phantom calls after phantom calls for both sides and the obvious ones were let go.
My favorite was the phantom call on the Sens Chris Phillips for tripping and then to make it up on the same play, a too many men on the ice for the Pens as the goalie got off.
Next to that is Chris Neil was got his elbow up on some dude's head (didn't catch the number) but somehow Sens gets a powerplay after all that ruckus because a Pens got a double minor for roughing and Neil got only 2 minutes for boarding. Neil should have been given 2, 5, and a game misconduct.
What terrible, terrible officiating in the game and made it almost unbearable to watch. |

Posted - 04/24/2013 : 09:20:23 I heard the same story from another hockey puckhead. Obviously, it being the first meeting since the Karlsson incident . . . I think the reffing crew felt an even greater pressure, and basically gave a bunch of indecisive/nervous calls.
