Assuming NHL players participate in the 2014 Olympics in Sochi who do you pick to play for the team? Who will be the Captain/ Assistants?

Here are some names that will undoubtedly be tossed around:

FORWARDS

Crosby, M Richards, E Staal, Toews, Getzlaf, Perry, Nash, Bergeron (returning players)

Stamkos, Sharp, Carter, Giroux, J Staal, Duchene, Tavares, Couture, Eberle, Hall, Seguin, Skinner (new)

DEFENSE

Doughty, Kieth, Weber (returning)

M Staal, Myers, Letang, Pietrangelo, Subban, Schenn (new)

GOALTENDERS

Fleury, Luongo (returning)

Price, Ward, S Mason, J Bernier (new)

Still kind of early to be discussing this type of stuff, but regardless it's fun to speculate. I don't have time to do it at the moment, but i'll try put together my '14 team this evening.

I think iginlas name will also be in the discussion, not saying he will be a shoe in or anything but he will only be 36 and if he is still producing at a decent level his name will be considered and you can't count out his Olympic experience, 2 Golds on his resume.

I also find it funny that Phanuef has been completly written off, now I am not a fan of Phanuef at all, but he could very well turn back into the player he was his first few years in the league, this looks like it could be his first season under 30 points, barring a very good last 17 games, and that is only because injuries shortened his season this year. If he can find his stride in Toronto over the ext 3 seasons, he will definalty be back in the mix.

CANUCKS RULE!!!
