Pittsburgh, PA, United States (4E Sports) - The Pittsburgh Penguins acquired unrestricted free agent winger Daniel Winnik from the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for forward Zach Sill and draft picks.

Winnik provides offensive depth, can help on the penalty kill and drives possessions. Penguins General manager Jim Rutherford has been after the forward for at least a month now.

The Leafs will also get the Penguins' second-round pick in 2016 and fourth-round pick in 2015, but will retain 50 percent of Winnik's salary-cap hit.

Sill , 26, was thrown into the deal to help the money work on the Penguins' end. He becomes an unrestricted free agent July 1.
