Capitals re-signed forward Marcus Johansson to one-year deal

Washington, D.C., United States (4E Sports) - Following an arbitration hearing Thursday, forward Marcus Johansson was rewarded by the Washington Capitals with a one-year, $3.75 million contract.

The Washington Post reported that Johansson was looking for a one-year, $4.75 million contract but the Capitals were only offering a $3 million deal.

Last season in his fifth year with the Capitals, Johansson played in 82 games regular season games and tallied career-highs in goals with 20 and points with 47.

The 24-year-old added four points (one goal, three assists) in 14 playoff games during the 2014-15 season.

Washington was eliminated in the second-round by the New York Rangers in seven games.
