Jaromir Jagr named to Czech Republic's roster for World Championship

Sunrise, FL, United States (4E Sports) - Florida Panthers forward Jaromir Jagr has been named to the Czech Republic's roster for the 2015 IIHF World Championship, which will be played in Prague and Ostrava beginning May 1.

Jagr is joined on the roster by Philadelphia Flyers forward Jakub Voracek , Winnipeg Jets goaltender Ondrej Pavelec , San Jose Sharks forward Tomas Hertl , Arizona Coyotes forward Martin Erat and Colorado Avalanche defenseman Jan Hejda .

The Czech Republic will be part of Group A along with Canada, Sweden, Switzerland, Latvia, France, Germany and Austria. It will open the tournament against Sweden May 1.

Earlier this month, Jagr signed a one-year contract with the Panthers for the 2015-16 season. He had 17 goals and 47 points in 77 games for the New Jersey Devils and Panthers in his 21st NHL season.
