Montreal, QC, Canada (4E Sports) - After 11 months, Montreal Canadiens goaltender Carey Price will make his much-anticipated return when they collide with the Arizona Coyotes Thursday at Bell Centre.

Canadiens head coach Michel Therrien confirmed that Price would get the start in goal while Al Montoya will serve as Price's backup.

"Carey met with team medical staff, with Dr. [David] Mulder , after the morning skate, and together we made the decision that he was ready to come back and play," said Therrien .

"We're really happy about it. I know that he wanted to play and he's feeling good enough to do it. We're really excited," he added.

Price's return will complete his journey back from a sprained MCL in his right knee last November that limited his stint to just 12 games last season. He also missed the first three games of the season due to a severe case of the flu.

The Canadiens were first in the NHL standings when Price was injured on Nov. 25, but went 7-20-2 in their next 29 games to fall out of the playoff picture in the Eastern Conference with Mike Condon as the starter.

During his World Cup stint where he led Canada to the title, Price went 5-0-0 with a .957 save percentage and a 1.40 goals-against average.
