Max Pacioretty shines as Canadiens top Capitals in OT

Montreal, QC, Canada (4E Sports) - Max Pacioretty scored in overtime to carry the Montreal Canadiens to a 1-0 win over the Washington Capitals Saturday at Bell Centre.

Pacioretty tallied his 23rd goal of the season at 3:08 in overtime with help from Tomas Plekanec and P.K. Subban as the Canadiens improved to 32-13-3 with their fifth straight win.

It was the second straight game-winning goal for Pacioretty , who also scored late in the third to carry the Canadiens to a 1-0 win over the New York Rangers Thursday at Madison Square Garden.

Carey Price stopped 36 shots for his fourth shutout of the season and 29th of his career for the Canadiens .

Price, who extended his shutout streak to 153:03, is now tied with Patrick Roy for fifth in Canadiens history in shutouts.

Braden Holtby tallied 29 saves for the Capitals, who slipped to 25-14-10 after losing five of their last six games.

Alex Ovechkin had eight shots on goal but failed to record his 30th goal of the season. Heading into the game, he was aiming to reach the 30-goal plateau for the 10th time in his first 10 NHL season.
