NY, NY, United States (NewsBahn) - Henrik Lundvist stopped 27 of 28 shots as the New York Rangers edged the New Jersey Devils 2-1 Monday night at Madison Square Garden.

"The King" allowed just a late tally from Travis Zajac but was otherwise superb in leading the Blueshirts to a third straight win.

The Rangers started out strong, outshooting the Devs . 17-9 in the opening period.

New York opened the scoring at 4:47 of the second on Kevin Klein's tally. The Rangers made it 2-0 on J.T. Miller's goal 4:47 into the second stanza.

Cory Schneider was stellar in stopping 35 shots in all, continuing a terrific season for the Devils goalie.

New York sputtered on its power play again, going scoreless in five attempts.
