Montreal, QC, Canada (4E Sports) - The Montreal Canadiens will take on the New York Rangers for the first time Saturday since their Eastern Conference Final series which saw goalie Carey Price bow out in Game 1 with a knee injury.

Questions were asked about the series including a different outcome if the Canadiens had one of the league's best goaltenders healthy.

"The fact we lost Carey Price was a huge loss for us, but we're never going to know if it would have been different," Canadiens coach Michel Therrien said.

"It's easy to speculate about the result, but we're never going to know," he added.

Price will face the Rangers since his knee ailment suffered after a collision with Rangers' Chris Kreider and was asked if he circled the game in the calendar.

"Not even a little bit," he answered.

New York won in six games but fell short against the Los Angeles Kings in the Stanley Cup Finals.

Forward Brendan Gallagher said last season's series is over and the team is not gunning for revenge.

"I think it's something that's over with, we have to learn from it, be better for it this year, but we can't be playing with vengeance in our minds."

Both teams are playing well this season with the Canadiens lording over the Eastern Conference standings while the Rangers are on a three-game winning streak.

The Canadiens only need to address their issue of starting slow and trailing early in most of their games.

But with Price back, Therrien believes the team has confidence which is essential for winning.

"It's important to have confidence as a team, and Carey Price, the quality goaltender that he is, gives us confidence that we have a chance to win every game. That's a big plus."
