Defenseman T.J. Brodie inks five-year extension with Flames

Calgary, AB, Canada (4E Sports) - Defenseman T.J. Brodie will stay with the Calgary Flames after signing a five-year extension deal Monday which is reportedly worth $23.25 million.

Brodie played 81 games for the Flames last season recording four goals and 27 assists.

The 24-year-old scored 66 points in 192 games played for the Flames since joining the team in 2012.

Brodie already has three goals and four assists this season, scoring his third goal in a 4-1 victory over the Winnipeg Jets Sunday.

Brodie was picked 114th overall by the Flames in the 2008 NHL Draft.
