Chicago, IL, United States (4E Sports) - Chicago Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews emphasized on the importance of team unity Thursday in light of investigation on Patrick Kane's alleged sexual assault incident.

Toews said they have to deal with rumors surrounding team members internally, not let it affect the way they do their jobs and stay together as a team.

Kane signed an eight-year, $84 million contract last summer, which is set to go into effect this upcoming season.

He had 11 goals and 23 points in 23 playoff games last season while helping the Blackhawks win their third Stanley Cup in six seasons.

Kane totaled 205 goals and 352 assists in 576 career NHL regular-season games over eight seasons with the Blackhawks.

The Blackhawks open training camp Sept. 17.
