Colin Greening scores in 2nd OT as Senators take Game 3

Ottawa, ON, Canada (4E Sports) - Colin Greening scored 7:39 into second overtime to lift the Ottawa Senators to a come-from-behind 2-1 victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins Monday in Game 3 of the Western Conference semifinal series at Scotiabank Place.
Tomas Vokoun made two straight saves before Greening backhanded a shot from 17 feet past the goaltender for the game-winning tally that cut the Penguins' lead in the best-of-seven affair to 2-1.
Craig Anderson tallied 49 saves while Daniel Alfredsson scored a shorthanded goal in the third period to force overtime for the Senators, who have a chance to tie the series in Wednesday's Game 4 also at Scotiabank Place.
"Obviously, you don't want to go down 3-0," said Greening, who has three goals in the playoffs. "That's pretty tough to come back from. It was a huge win for us tonight and I want to give a lot of props to Alfie getting that goal shorthanded with 30 seconds left."
"It was exciting," Anderson said. "I think we got a lot of energy from our fans and we rallied around our troops and we just kind of found a way. It's not always pretty but we find a way."
Vokoun recorded 46 stops while Tyler Kennedy scored the Penguins' lone goal in the second period.
With Pittsburgh holding a 1-0 lead and defenseman Erik Karlsson penalized at 18:33 of the third period for slashing, the Penguins looked like headed to a commanding series lead.
However, Milan Michalek saw Alfredsson cruising in front and put a wrist shot toward him, allowing the Senators' all-time leading scorer to tip the puck into the top corner past Vokoun, sending the sellout crowd of 20,500 into frenzy.
After a back-and-forth period of furious hockey in the first overtime, Greening stepped to the fore in double overtime when Andre Benoit's sharp-angle shot forced Vokoun into a difficult save. However, Vokoun failed to get Greening's shot on the rebound.
"I just tried to whack at it as hard as I could and luckily it went in," Greening said.
