Matt Stajan's tiebreaker lift Flames past Canucks, into second round

Calgary, AB, Canada (4E Sports) - Matt Stajan gave the Calgary Flames a pivotal lead with a tally at 4:17 left in beating the Vancouver Canucks, 7-4 Saturday at Scotiabank Saddledome .

With the win, the Flames clinch their Western Conference playoff series 4-2.

Canucks goalie Ryan Miller made an initial save on Michael Ferland , but Stajan banged in the rebound.

Jiri Hudler and Ferland drove in empty-net goals in the last 29 seconds for the final score.

Hudler tied it at four with a power-play goal at 6:14 of the third period after Luca Sbisa put the Canucks back at 10:36 of the second.

Ferland scored late in the first and Sean Monahan at 1:02 of the second before Johnny Gaudreau tied it 4:33 later.

Brandon McMillan, Jannik Hansen and Radim Vrbata all scored in the Canucks first four shots for a 3-0 lead midway through the first period.

Flames' Karri Ramo stopped 17 of 19 shots in relief while Miller made 28 saves in the loss.

The Flames will face the Anaheim Ducks in the second round.
