Chicago, IL, United States (4E Sports) - The Chicago Blackhawks displayed powerful offense in the second period scoring three goals to win Game 3 of their series against the Nashville Predators Sunday 4-2 and take a 2-1 lead.

Chicago opened the scoring with a goal from center Andrew Desjardins who was stopped on his first attempt but was successful on his next try.

The Predators quickly tied the game at 1-1 with a goal from center Mike Ribeiro 30 seconds after the Blackhawks scored.

Chicago recaptured the lead 2-1 early in the second period with right wing Marian Hossa leaving the puck for center Jonathan Toews who scored his second goal in the playoffs.

But Nashville answered in just 22 seconds as defenseman Mattias Ekholm's shot eluded Blackhawks goaltender Scott Darling for a 2-2 draw.

Left wing Brandon Saad regained the lead for Chicago with another goal at the 3:38 mark in the second.

With more than seven minutes left in the period, Toews assisted defenseman Brent Seabrook for the last goal of Game 3 and a 4-2 lead.

Blackhawks' Darling had a stellar performance in his first start this series stopping 37 shots.

His Predators counterpart, Pekka Rinne , had 30 saves in the loss.

Game 4 of the series will be played this Tuesday at the United Center.
