St. Louis, MO, United States (4E Sports) - NHL's all-time winningest goalie Martin Brodeur will begin working out with the St. Louis Blues, Friday.

Brodeur , who helped the New Jersey Devils win three Stanley Cups in his 21 seasons, said that the Blues were among his top choices and was pretty excited when the team reached out to him.

"The Blues called us about the possibility of me going in there and having a couple of days of practice and to kind of have a mutual feel for each other and see where that takes us," said the veteran goalie.

He added that having worked with and against Blues coach Ken Hitch for many years made the team attractive for him.

Blues starting netminder Brian Elliott injured his knee Tuesday and is listed as being out week to week.

The Blues will reportedly decide by the middle of next week whether to offer Brodeur a formal contract.
