St. Louis, MO, United States (4E Sports) - St. Louis Blues left wing Jaden Schwartz has been placed on injured reserve due to a broken right foot suffered Tuesday in their 5-2 win over the Los Angeles Kings.

General manager Doug Armstrong categorized his status as week-to-week.

Schwartz, 22, was blocking a shot by Kings defenseman Drew Doughty in the first quarter when the injury occurred but remained in the game to log 18:24 of ice time.

He was unaware of the seriousness of the injury until he awoke Wednesday with significant soreness and underwent tests.

The Blues' No. 14 overall pick in the 2010 draft, Schwartz is second in the team with 11 goals, tied for second in points with 27 and tied for third in assists with 16.

The team recalled forward Dmitrij Jaskin , 21, from the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League, who had a goal in six games with the Blues.
