ESPN magazine did a fans poll and found out the Sabres were voted #1 sports franchise in North America by American fans...way to go!
Can we name them best American hockey town now?

Granted it's not a very scientific poll, but we'll take it. Buffalo fans are incredibly loyal, and we've had to endure a lot of pain (cite other ESPN poll, page 2 article, sports teams who have suffered the most, Buffalo Bills at #1, Buffalo Sabres at #35). I don't read too much into the poll, but it's nice to know we get some recognition. |

Based on what? That's a pretty ambiguous statement to make.
I think it was a fan vote: overall fan experience, ticket price/value, etc
It was an ESPN story on hockey, though...so I dont know how much weight you want to put into it

If the Canucks can't have it, I'll be cheering on Buffalo. Not so much because I'm a huge Buffalo fan, but because they deserved it 100% last year. They got hosed with injuries in the playoffs...and still were only 1 game away from the finals. |
