Senators sign defenseman Cody Ceci to 2-year contract

Ottawa, ON, Canada (4E Sports) - Restricted free agent defenseman Cody Ceci will remain with the Ottawa Senators after agreeing to terms on a two-year contact Tuesday.

According to sources, the contract has an average annual value of $2.8 million.

The 22-year-old Ceci set NHL career highs with 10 goals, 26 points and 18 penalty minutes while matching a career-high 16 assists in 75 games last season.

Ceci has 18 goals and 56 points in 205 NHL games, all with the Senators, and two assists in six Stanley Cup Playoff games.

The 15th pick of the 2012 NHL Draft, Ceci had a goal and five assists in 10 games at the 2016 IIHF World Championship to help Canada win a gold medal.
