Los Angeles, CA, United States (4E Sports) - Los Angeles Kings forward Milan Lucic shared in a radio interview his desire of playing for hometown team the Vancouver Canucks although he said the focus will be on helping the Kings this season.

"It's obviously something that's been a dream of mine since I've been a kid, is to play in your hometown and play for the Canucks, but right now the main focus is going down to L.A. and trying to make the most of that," Lucic said.

After winning the Stanley Cup in 2014, the Kings missed the playoffs last season for the first time since the 2008-09 season.

"If you look at the roster, we're still a really deep team that has another chance to make a Cup run. So right now I'm more worried about that than anything else," the 27-year-old said.

Lucic , who was traded from the Boston Bruins June, is set to earn $6.5 million for the upcoming season and still has a year in his current pact.
