Philadelphia, PA, United States (4E Sports) - Philadelphia Flyers captain and center Claude Giroux will be sidelined for two weeks after suffering a lower-body injury Friday.

According to the NHL, Giroux left the team's first practice of training camp because of the injury.

Flyers GM Ron Hextall said, "We don't want to start camp like that but what are you going to do?"

"We'll battle through and be the best we can be," he added.

The injury will keep Giroux out for the Flyers' eight preseason games.

Hextall also said the injury is a new one and there are no issues on Giroux's health before he sustained the injury.

Without Giroux, there will be adjustments in the team's lineup according to Hextall.

"There's going to be different line combinations probably tried throughout training camp and preseason, so we'll see. We'll see how that goes."

Giroux played all 82 games for the Flyers last season and has not missed a game in four of their last five seasons.

The Flyers captain is also the leading scorer for the team with 86 points.

Giroux recorded 28 goals and 58 assists for Philly.
