Another hattrick last night, and with 19 goals in 19 games now, 35 points overall already, there is no one in hockey hotter than Sizzlin' Stevie.

He had 51 goals last year, so it's no fluke that he can score . . . but honestly, he is looking more and more like the Brett Hull of our generation, except that he can skate better and pass better, IMHO. Playing with a fantastic playmaker in Marty St.Louis, Stamkos has a real shot at a run at some records . . . not since Ovie's 65 goal season has someone looked this amazing at scoring goals.

How high can/will he go? Vote below!

I already Admitted he had a slapshot but My original point was an Exaggeration that it wasn't the best. My other Responces were Wrong. Sorry for the Inconvenience now stop Bagging on me ok

New Post correcting old ones. Stamkos is the Paval Bure, Brett Hull mix of a player he will defeinatly be a Hart Nominee this year, If he can keep his play up I don't know especially with Tampa getting shut down by Washington.

But, there are so many things that can go wrong during a season. It'll be interesting to watch to see if he can manage 50 in 50 (and join Bossy, Gretzky, Lemieux, Hull, and richard) and how many he'll get at the end of the season. (For the record, I don't think 50 in 39 will EVER be touched.)

I think he could totally do it as long as he keeps playing with St. Louis and doesn't get injured.

Monkey man you must be too busy watching monkeys on tv than watching sportscentre because you can see 60 percent of stamkos' goals are from his slapshot. Everyone agrees.

Hardest shot you have to be kidding me, his wrist shot is damn powerful but his slapshot shows nothing more then Willie Mitchells Slap shot.

LOL haha you don't even have to watch games to know this is completely false just watch the highlights the next days he is o0n them almost everyday, Stamkos has an incredible one timer and slap shot,,

Stamkos' one-timer is amongst the greatest offensive weapons in the NHL.

Stamkos is really being compared to Brett Hull, but in my opinion he is more like a Bure, that Quick start can get him up the ice and back in time to stop a goal from going in then get back up sniping one for a goal.

Stevie obviously has great mobillity and accuracy making him a Power Play super star. His 5 on 5 skill is nothing to under estimate also but St Louis is what i believe really powers up him on the even strength.

Actually Slozo, i never meant to have it sound that way at all.

I believe Stamkos is a highly gifted, natural sniper. I do think that even after St Luis retires, Stamkos will continue to put up big goal totals.

And, what I was really trying to get at is, that even after St Luis retires, part of why Stamkos will continue scoring big goals is because of the affect St Luis had on him, during their time together.

I believe that Marty has instilled a lot in Stamkos. I think that playing with Marty, has brought out the best of Stamkos skill. Also, training with Roberts has helped him immensely too.

I don't think Stamkos will slow down when Marty retires. I just think that, Marty was the one, along with Roberts, who had Stamkos realize his potential and helped jump start it.

I think the point you were getting at Irvine (but never really said outloud) was that although Stamkos may put up big numbers this year (after last year's 51 goal season) and maybe next, that he can't sustain it like a more natural goal scorer.

Possibly, and it's a point well taken. But that being said, they said that about Brett Hull - one dimensional, one year phenom, I remember was the common thing to say. He scored all of his goals from the same faceoff dot, he had this quick, economical slapper that had pinpoint accuracy, and he had an elite set-up man in Oates during his big years.

All eerily similar.

But off the rush, from what I have seen of Stamkos (and I am watching him more and more now), he is also highly skilled. Maybe more skilled than Brett Hull ever was, IMHO.

Brett Hull adapted through the times to continue to put up big goal numbers, even without Oates. Players adapt and change to the changing times, if they are talented enough.

Stamkos is certainly that talented, IMHO, and may not be as one-dimensional as a lot of people are tagging him as now.

Time will tell.

Steven Stamkos is a quality sniper. No question about that.

However,

he scores a LOT of his goals from the same exact spot on the ice. Right around the red face-off circle. When he gets in that spot, look out. The puck is going in the net. A lot of those goals, are also one timers. The kid has an excellent one-timer. The puck is in the net, as quickly as it hits his stick.

Don't get me wrong. Stamkos can score from any area on the ice. But, his spot, seems to be in the red face-off circle.

I can see a 60 goal season from Stammy this year. Not just because of his quick start (although it helps), but because of the release he has, coupled with the chemistry he and Marty have.

Which, brings me to Martin St. Luis.

Marty is one of my favorite players. He has been since the days he played for the Saint John Flames, of the American Hockey League.

He is a class guy. Extremely hard worker. And, as skilled and determined as they come.

Martin is not as good today as he is, because he was born to be an elite hockey player like some. He is as skilled and gifted today, because he has worked extremely hard forever to become the elite player he is today. His hard work, dedication and determination has paid off.

I believe Stamkos developed so quickly because of a couple of reasons.

1) His own dedication and hard work

2) Playing with Martin St. Luis, and learning from him about how to handle the NHL and what it takes to succeed. Also, by having Marty there to set him up.

3) Training with and learning from Gary Roberts.

St. Louis is one of the least injury prone players in the NHL, even with his small size.

He's a pure sniper reminds me guys like Bossy, Hull quick release deadly accurate, he knows where to the open ice is and gets there. I predict over 60 goals and 130 points this year.

63 goals, 55 assists for 118 points

i thought st louis has lost his scoring touch so it wouldn't matter?

Pasty

When he said St Louis had lost his scoring touch, he meant goals, remember: "In my world scoring means goals" ?

It is totally possible that he implodes or gets injured, remember what happened to Iginla and Crosby in 2008?

He could definitly have a career just like the Golden Brett.

I say he hold this up, turns out with 130 points and wins the Hart, Art Ross, Pearson, Rocket, and possibly Byng (I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't win it though).

I voted 55-60 and the Rocket Richard trophy. I think he's got an excellent chance at MVP as well.

Then again, what do i know. I pegged him for approx 105 pts. Sheesh, he could have that by the new year at this rate! He's currently on pace for over 150pts!
