Stamkos is fine. It's time for everyone to focus on Crosby for a bit, till he cools down. |

Posted - 12/11/2010 : 15:41:03 I think having Vincent L. out of the lineup gives teams more of a chance to focus on him and Duke is right the other teams are reacting to his favorite spot and defending it. |

Posted - 12/11/2010 : 14:09:10 There is still a lot of time left in the season he could go on a hot streak? |

Posted - 12/11/2010 : 14:08:09 He had a great year last year thats very tough to repeat for anyone but the greatest players of all time. |

Posted - 12/11/2010 : 08:51:21 I think people need to chillax a little. He started out on a pace that very few players in history could maintain and he came back to earth a little bit. He's was on a 6-game goal-less streak until last night. Even though he had not scored in 6 games he still holds a pace for 60+ goals! Realistically, it will be more like 50 but think about that for a second?? What players in recent history have back to back 50 goal seasons?? He is in the company of Ovechkin, Heatley, and soon to be Crosby in the back to back 50 goal club in the past 10ish years.
But more interesting, who was the last back to back 50 goal guy at 21 yrs old???
Stamkos is fine. |

Posted - 12/11/2010 : 08:07:45 He stopped scoring when Gagne returned. It was also right around the time the media started the 50 in 50 hype. Does either have anything to do with it? Not sure. I think the Duke touched on what it more than likely is and that is other teams have figured him out and how to defend against him. We shall see... |

Posted - 12/11/2010 : 07:43:22 Maybe he was scoring a lot of his goals from the same spot and teams are focusing in on him more now !!! which they should.
Brian McCabe was putting bombs in from the point ( via Kaberles soft passes ), once upon a time. When teams put a man high in the slot constantly watching him...lets just say his goal scoring cut off abruptly. |

Posted - 12/11/2010 : 06:55:27 Chef, you are totally misguided to say Stamkos is the top player in the league right now. I think if you asked the vast amount of hockey fans a centre they would want to start a team around he may be 10% of people answer, He is a great player but for now i will call him a power play specialist as their is nobody deadlier with the man advantage.
Overall, their is nothing wrong with Stamkos he is a great player that plays on a defensive inferior team. When you play on a team that is always chasing the other team to get the puck your point production is bound to drop off. Stamkos is a phenomenal player but until Stevie Y fills the rest of the holes in TB it will be difficult for Stamkos to dominate the league. But once they do get a little deeper defensively & in goal look out cuz he will be dynamic then.
Look at the guys who are amongst the league leaders every yr. More often then not you have guys on deep teams that control play for most of the night and wear down the oppositions D. Then these stars come in and deliver the killing blows.

Posted - 12/11/2010 : 06:23:55 the only thing wrong with stammer is that he scored too many goals right at the beginning of the season, there for causeing alot of people to asume that he was going to score 75 -80 goals.
thats whats wrong |

Posted - 12/11/2010 : 02:28:36 Everyone but Gretzky and Lemieux had their bad runs.... Stamkos is neither.... Don't try and convince yourself that he is. |

Posted - 12/11/2010 : 02:07:56 this was gonna even out over the year, I don't think anyone seriously thought he'd score 150 pts or whatever he was on track for earlier. He's still on track for a 100 pt season, its not like he's completely tanked or anything. |

Posted - 12/10/2010 : 20:14:25 I think it is a little early to give the guy heat ,I mean he is on a tear right now 40 points in 28 games is pretty good. st louis, gagne and malone are still there.I wouldn't worry anyway it won't take that long for stamkos to bounce back. the guy is probably the best player in the league right now. it not like he's pulling a kovelchuk.lol. now thats a guy with some problems.
p.s. it would suck if he was injured!
