Enough about the crybaby Bee Ess already, Sidney Crosby is the Captain of an NHL team and as the Captain of an NHL team he is supposed to argue calls and complain to the refs about stupid calls AND no calls...

Best player in a really, reealllyyy long time.

Ok haters, lets hear what you have to say...

I think Iginla will retire from fighting after the beat down he got from Benn last night & the only potential way i think you would ever see Crosby & Iginla scrap is the stanley cup finals as they have too much respect for one another to just drop the mits in a regular game.

Not a fan of crosby fighting period (or anyone fighting takes away the skill and finesse of the game) but if i had to watch crosby fight the only way i would get my money's worth is him fighting ovechkin and caving ovechkin's face in.

Lemieux owns Gretzky

Personally, i'd prefer to see him continue his point streak, and a trip to the penalty box or ever worse, a broken hand, wouldn't help much.

I'd like to see Crosby drop the mitts with Iginla.
my money is on IGGY.

I agree with Guest.

Crosby (being the league's #1 promotion) has every right to protect himself. Wouldn't want to see all that potential get washed away from that first major concussion. It has happened way too many times to great players.

I wonder what the consensus would be if Crosby stuck up for himself and got injured. In the NFL, even a mildly late hit or touch to the head will result in an automatic 15-20 yard penalty and a fine from the league. Crosby is not only a premier player, but a majority of NHL marketing is centered around Sidney (ex. NHL Winter Classic this year).

If Sid gets hurt, so does the sport. He has no reason to stick up for himself, he has other players to do it for him. This debate is old anyhow, anyone who has watched the Pens in recent years has seen Crosby mature as a player.

So he can be a wimp all he wants, at the end of the day he is the most effective player out there.

Yes he did, and it gained him a lot of respect. I don't care if he dives or not, as long as he is an efficiant team player.

Most people hate him because he isn't aggresive enough, who cares if he dives sometimes, if he is good at it he may as well dive.
doublechamp7 Posted - 12/11/2010 : 11:35:07
There arn't really that many "haters left" that have any valid reason for calling him a crybaby, he was a whiner his first two years but has matured a lot. Stanley Cups will do that to you.

IM A CHAMPION!
Mario 66 Posted - 12/11/2010 : 11:30:42
I am a die hard pens fan and can acknowledge that maybe their was some validity to people bitching about his whining the first two yrs but since then he doesnt whine he simply gets even, he will either fight them or give them a shot back.

There has never been a great player in any sport that didn't work the refs. Its not even whining most times you are simply letting the ref know hey Guest 9023 keeps grabbing my jersey or Oilearl keeps slashing me. That way the next time these guys are on the ice against you the ref is paying a little closer attention to them and maybe willing to make a call that he would normally not make. Thus giving you an edge.

One question to the haters : Which one of you wouldn't dream of having him on your team?

Lemieux owns Gretzky
Oilearl Posted - 12/11/2010 : 10:32:47
I agree with Guest 9023 he is the best in a long time and as a fan of the Oil, Gretzky whined alot for the same reasons. He was pretty good too!! I'm sure as Canadians when we play on the world stage everyone is happy to have him wearing our flag.

But no seriously he is a damn good player.

What exactly was the point of this thread again?
andarchy Posted - 12/11/2010 : 09:42:34
He complains about things just as much as anyone else in the league. It's just that he's under a micrscope at all times, so people tend to notice it more. It's also just a bunch of jealousy... fans of other teams wouldn't complain if he was on their team.
foolpittier Posted - 12/11/2010 : 06:01:20
