Posted - 12/15/2010 : 08:43:59 While all the talks of Bruce being booted out of Washington swirl the internet. I more so wonder why more people don't talk about New Jersey.
At the beginning of the year they were rated high. With brodeur at goalie to a solid offense- Kovalchuk, parise, elias, Zajac, Rolston, Langenbrunner. They sit below Edmonton and close to the Islanders in standings.
I understand Parise is hurt but they still have a ton of talent, yet, have the worst offensive stats in the league. Now here's a team in need for a coaching change or- a roster move. |

Posted - 12/15/2010 : 10:42:07 Ok, so, who ya think will pick him up? I agree with Guest that the Leafs might take a shot at him? Leafs pick up the salary and start laying groundwork for Parise or is it Zajak coming up UFA? |

Posted - 12/15/2010 : 09:08:32 someone may pick him up on re-entry waivers, which would be half salary to NJ. I doubt anyone picks him up (and his 5M salary) on the way down
If no one picks him up though, it does nothing for NJ in terms of salary relief - he is an over-35 contract, which means his salary counts against the NJ cap even if he plays in the minors. Even if he retires. |
