WTF? I didn't see this till now but it happened the other night in the LA vs Calgary game. Quick gets a piece of Iggy's shot, but it gets by him, only to hit _________ (insert your best guess) and go wide after it looked like a sure goal???

Slozo, did you have anything to do with this???

Ok I just looked at this save again and I was wrong. I really thought it was the frame rate of the camera at first. But this puck really does change directions and from the overhead it looks quite magical.

I guess as it got deflected down to the ice sheet (off of what part of Quick's body I have no idea) it must have had one hell of a spin on it and caught a rut on the ice and shot off. Crazy!

That puck was on it's way in....sniff, sniff.

Who wins at 35? Is it 35 and under for Slozo? Either way, this is one close bet!

35 and under I win, 36 or over you win.

Iggy just needs two more goals in 6 games for you to win. It's a coin flip at this point, maybe even slight advantage to you the way he is playing.

The force is strong with that one . . . a jedi knight I am, yes; but this Iggy you speak of also knows of the ways of the force.

The dark side is powerful, and must not be underestimated.

Excuse me, I need to go eat another mitochondrian sandwhich.

FER, you are my hero.

There has to be a unreal amout of spin on that puck when it was shot and some how Quick's save put even more spin on it. It had to hit a rut in the ice to grab like that and change the direction that much.

I don't recall ever seeing something like that in hockey before.

I don't think there is any magic here - it hit Quick's stick on the way through

Did you hear about the retired proctologist? He spent 40 years saying "what's a place like this doing in a girl like you?"

I read this in a comment somewhere, either on the youtube link or another i saw (can't recall). I looked VERY closely numerous time and his stick (blade, shaft, knob, etc) don't appear to be anywhere near to the puck when it changes direction.

I didn't follow the you tube link you provided as i saw this earlier on yahoo sports so maybe it was a different angle.

Beans is right, this never does get old!!

It wasnt a high-speed camera so it didn't pick up the actual contact with the shaft. Contact with the stick happened between the two frames.

I think this could be caused by the puck bouncing into the air after hitting Quick's stick, and then bouncing off the ice on an edge that changes the puck's direction. I would think that an imperfection in the ice that large would have been noticed by Quick earlier.

I'm very bitter about this 'magical' save. It is forbidden to speak of.

Imperfection? Man, that's an understatement! For it to take a change of direction that drastic, you'd have to think it was a serious rut!
