beans ...A. i am pretty sure i quoted everything you said in that post i didn't crop anything out it was word for word..... and yes i understand fully you said word for word "if this game was any indication" and you were right in saying that because that game you were reffering to the 7-0 bruins win was probably the worst blow out of the year in terms of how bad the habs were....
B. i meant my comments in a playful poke at you seeing how well my habs had done so far better than eve the most bias of habs fans could have predicted....
c. even though the habs lost tonight i',m still quite content because at the end of the game it took all the Bruins could to keep th habs from winning the habs were the better team on the ice in game three the bruins were very lucky to come out with a win,,,

Boston. Landslide. No contest. The series would be a sweep with 28 goals for Boston and 0 against if this game is any indication.
yep landslide it is

I can see predicting a split at best! What they've done is pretty surprising, i'd imagine even for Habs fans!!!
As an Habs fan i was confident that Montreal can win the series (i said in 6) but i never thought we would grab both game in Boston (maybe 1), but i'm really happy we did!!! They showed up ready, and maybe Boston took them for granted? I don't know what will happen in Montreal, i sure hope they win both and step to the next level, but we have to wait and see. Go Habs Go!

Posted - 04/17/2011 : 09:05:24 Yes Guest 2775, some people were way off . . . so far, at least. Too bad you can't gloat, as you didn't actually make a prediction that the Habs would win the first two games. I'm guessing you didn't lay any big money on it happening either, as then you wouldn't making Sunday morning commentary on a hockey talk website . . . you'd be recovering still from last night's huge celebration.
Honestly, I think even most Habs fans expected a long and tough series, even if they did predict the Canadiens to win. It certainly looks as if it's all gone sideways on the Bruins though . . . we'll see if they have any hope of regaining some pride in a day or two.

Posted - 03/25/2011 : 10:41:44 Beans, obviously last night was an aberration. That was not normal Habs hockey. I actually think the Habs have the Bruins number, and the season series actually points that way.
You say it yourself, the Habs won most of the close games, and that is the sort of scoring that happens generally in playoff hockey. It will be anything but a landslide. I actually think these are two fairly closely matched teams and I do hope they meet up.
The Bruins have the size and the Habs have the speed and tranisiton that has caused the Bruins fits in the past. |

Yeah, and a broken clock is right twice a day. What's your point. Montreal was playing Washington last season, not Boston. Boston is a more rounded team who have very few if any holes in their line-up. If anything could be critical about that team is they are a little on the slow side. Outside of that, deep and talented.
I still see this 5-6 games and pretty lop-sided. |

Posted - 03/25/2011 : 05:32:49 I think it would be a series for the ages, actually . . . 7 games, with perhaps the Bruins exorcising the demons of last year and winning that 7th game.
But I think that Montreal would give them a very serious run for their money. I am actually looking forward to this series (if Montreal and Boston stay where they are in the standings) almost as much as the Pens/Wash series a couple of years ago.

Posted - 03/24/2011 : 20:18:52 Yep, one game doesn't mean nothing. However, a game like that when it should have been Montreal coming out and sending a message does say something. It say, "Go ahead and beat us. We won't stop you. Regardless of you beating us physically or beating us on the scoreboard, we will sit here and watch." How about the shortie by Campbell on a 2 man advantage??? Montreal is still sitting in their dressing room with their head's hung low. And I am a fan of that team!!!!
This season
Game 1 - Montreal 3 - Boston 1 Game 2 - Montreal 4 - Boston 3 Game 3 - Montreal 3- Boston 2 (OT) Game 4 - Montreal 6 - Boston 8 Game 5 - Montreal 4 - Boston 1 Game 6 - Montreal 0 - Boston 7
The season series is 4-2 Montreal and 1/2 of those are 1 goal games, one going to OT. The overall goal differential is +2 for Boston. Maybe not a blow out, but I see Boston as a higher quality team at more positions and far deeper than Montreal.
I say that series goes 5 games, 6 at the most and in Boston's favour. And I will put a bet on that with anyone who wants it if and when Boston and Montreal meet in the first round. |
