Did any of you see that flames disallowed goal. It's in the net grabbed by visnovsky I think and they still find a way to call it no goal. the crossbar is inline with the goal line. This call pisses me off and I hate the flames.

I think there is two things wrong with the current video replay system
1. The people making the call should be allowed to use common sense and not have to clearly see the puck. e.g. the puck is under the goalie and the goalie is in the net but we can't see the puck so no goal
2. The refs original call should have no effect on the final call. I hate the whole conclusive evidence thing.

But it really does even out over the season. Everyone remembers these kinds of calls but no one ever talks about the favourable calls and bounces a team gets along the way.
Sure the time is crap and fans can point the finger in one direction, but over the 82 games it doesn't matter. What kind of person looks at a call like this and says it might have caused them their season when they were like 3-19-4 for a stretch around Christmas time.
No one talks about the crap calls that Detroit gets or doesn't get do they?? No, because they don't matter when you win. |

This one's tough, and while it's easy to say that "breaks even out over a season", it's difficult i'm sure for a Flames fan to accept that at this time of the season!
The only way they can correct this is to amend the rules on video replay or get more / better cameras in and around the net! |

Yeah,and they allow that stupid goal to the trashers vs the habs where boulton hits Hal Gill straight in the face with his stick takes the puck off him passes to antropov alone the other side and they score..hal gill was even bleeding..it's a 4 min penalty they closed their eyes on which led directly to a goal |

Obviously I'm not a fan of the the Flames but I hate to see this happen when so much is at stake. It was a goal IMO and deflated the team' |

That is a tough one for sure.
However, in order to overturn an on-ice call, there must be conclusive proof that the call was incorrect, otherwise the on-ice call stands. I guess the NHL felt that there was at least a chance that the black band on the sleeve might have been a stripe rather than the puck. If they are not sure, then the on-ice call has to stand, unfortunately |
