Posted - 04/15/2011 : 11:04:38 Since DC isn't bothering, here are the rest of his players, without lines:
Forwards: Joe Thornton, Brendan Shanahan, Doug Weight, Rod Brind'Amour, Alex Kovalev, Zach Parise, Bill Guerin, Scott Gomez, Dany Briere, Mike Knuble, Sammy Pahlsson.
Defense: S. Niedermayer, B. Rafalski, Teppo Numminen, Jovanovski, McCabe, Redden
I have to say, DC's forwards have just as much history, if not more, than A1's, but, in my opinion, DC only has Thornton and Shanahan that are in that very elite category, while A1 has Lemieux, Sedins, with Gaborik, Backstrom on the cusp.
On defense, I truly prefer DC's, because he has a comparative amount of offensive talent, but also has guys that have real defensive skills, in Niedermayer, Rafalski(both played for the trapping NJ teams!), an oft underrated Numminen, and the size and big checks inJovanovski and McCabe. |

Posted - 04/14/2011 : 17:28:39 Don't have much time to examine the teams, but I can take a quick look at goaltending, and its not hard to say who is statistically better:
A1's Rask/Miller vs DC's Belfour/Luongo.
Results, pedigree, Cups, Medals go to Belfour and Luongo. But if if you dislike Belfour's attitude, and the fact that Luongo plays for the Canucks, its obvious which goaltenders you would prefer.
DC wins goaltending. I'll take a look at forwards and defense later on. |

Awesome One's Forwards:
1. Lemieux-Robataille-Stamkos Here I combine one of the greatest players of all time with one of the best active players and the best Left Winger available.
2. Roberts-Nieuwindyk-Getzlaf I have an extremly gritty leader in Roberts combined with a man who hands down should have been in the Hall-Of-Fame this year and perhaps the best combination of playmaking, grit and size today.
3. Sedin-Sedin-Bondra I've got the best dynamic duo in the game today (and the scoring champs in the past 2 years) with a 400 goal scorer.
4. Gaborik-Backstrom-Marleau This would be the 1st line on any team in the NHL, a combination of skill, playmaking and scoring.
Defencemen:
1. Green-Keith I've got a great combo of young offensive talent in this pair and last year's Norris winner.
2. Boyle-Bouwmeester Again, I have a really good combination of defensive scoring talent.
3. Markov-Yandle Another offensive threat, I've got one of the top scoring D-Men from this year and a perrenial 60 point man when healthy.
Goalies:
Miller and Rask I've got last year's Vezina winner and an outstanding goalie plus a young up and comer with loads of talent.
Coach and G.M.:
Ruff and Holland Here I have one of the best coaches today who has been with the same team for 10+ years and the best G.M. of our time and 2nd best of all-time behind Sammy Pollock.
VOTE A1!!!!
