Seems Phaneuf and Reimer are a big part of Canada being 3-0 thus far at the worlds?

Looks like Phaneuf has picked up his play and Reimer has continued his good play that began with his late season stint in Toronto. Can only bode well for the Leafs moving forward! Darn

Serves him right for being part of a "coulple"!!!

What i'm more interested in, is how he lost the job? Are they not undefeated? Did he have a shaky game or two or did Bernier step in and play "lights out"?

Anyone followed the WC's much?

You miss 100 percent of the shots you don't take Wayne Gretzky

Jonathon Bernier played against the Norwegians today and made 25 saves. It is going to be interesting to see who starts the next game.

Leafs players have a long established history of having their best performances after their NHL season is over - in numerous pursuits including golf, baseball, softball, and international hockey

Do you mean Ken Hitchcock???

Burke is the one calling the shots in TO and he has said repeatedly that Wilson is not going anywhere. I would think the any coach firings of teams that missed the playoffs are done.

Maybe this tournament will give Phaneuf some more confidence and get his game back to the level of where it was once. He was great down the stretch but horrible in the first half this season. Nice to see Reimer play too.

Anyone give any thought to Dave Nonis`s pick for head coach, Ken Hiscock. Guess he likes him as a coach, any chance he can replace that moron Ron Wilson i wonder ?? What a relief that would be in leaf land.

I for one was really happy that Reimer took the chance to play at the worlds . . . and I speak of that from purely a "poolie" point of view.

Hopefully, we get a better idea of how Reimer will perform in the future year for the Leafs, and we can better adjust our expectations. Really tough to say for these goalies that start off so hot, especially out of the blue (not one of the highest prospects at all).

From a Leafs perspective, it scares me. He isn't used to a long season like he is about to go through, and it'll be an entirely different situation with him being "the man" and having more pressure. On one hand, he gets to experience that higher pressure playing for Canada, but really, it just adds extra workload to his year.

Overall, I am pleased - it shows initiative, and it shows they want to be on a bigger stage, and get whatever experience they can playing on the different world stage.

Good on them!

Classy posting. It's great to see positive postings about teams (or players) which are not necessarily a poster's favourite team. I'm not a Leafs fan (I'm no hater though), but good for them if a few of their players are shining at the Worlds.

While I do not pay much attention to the Worlds (primarily because the Stanley Cup Playoff take place at the same time), I always respect and appreciate the players who participate. Especially recognizing that they do so without pay, and also, at a time when their NHL season has come to an end! It's very easy for invited players to take a pass, but most do not.

of course the leafers look good at this tournament... the competition they face (that is any good) from all over the world is still playing in NHL playoffs...
