Unless there are some miracle comebacks, the second round series appear to be over in six games or less. The likelihood of a game seven appears quite remote, and it's possible that we will see two or three four-game sweeps this round.
I know there's some exciting hockey to be played in the second round, but I can't wait for round three, for which appears to be the Canucks vs the Sharks and the Bruins vs the Lightning! |

I don't actually recall a second round that was over as quick as this one could be. 1 sweep already, 2 that are likely sweeps, and another that could be done in 5?
Curious - the second round could be over on Saturday, but the 3rd round was not slated to start for another week. If it were to end this weekend, would the NHL start the 3rd round earlier than originally planned? Or do we all wait around for a week with no hockey.
They were talking about this on the radio yesterday and they weren't sure what was going to happen. As PE mentioned, scheduling conflicts at arena's come into play, however, i can't see them not starting earlier than planned even if it means extra days between games?
Then again, these series still have to end! |

Posted - 05/06/2011 : 08:22:03 I think the schedule gets moved up/down as necessary and as possible with the team venues. I remember some times where there was a lot of juggling necessary when venues were scheduled for concerts etc, but never issues with "waiting" for hockey to happen, as far as I remember. |
