Cody Hodgson has been playing well lately fo the Canucks and found his scoring touch. With this in mind, how many points will Hodgson end up with at the end of the year?

Ryan Kesler is a BEAST!

Guys, I like the Canucks talk and all, but can we focus on Hodgson instead of Raymonds injury status? I'll start a different thread on that ok? :)

Not 100% sure, but thought i heard somewhere that Raymond has been cleared for contact?

it has changed. All summer and fall we heard plenty of rumours about Raymond, from "back in Nov" to "career over". He is back on skates, and is practicing lightly with the Canucks now, which would seem to indicate a possible return in late Dec/early Jan.

I don't know what sort of form he'll have when he does get back, but his return does create a bit of a logjam in the top-9. And it will have a definite impact on Hodgson.

last i heard they were not even sure if Raymond would play again, has that changed suddenly.

It ultimately depends on where he slots into the lineup after everyone is back. Hodgson has benefitted from various injuries to other Canucks - Kesler early on, but more importantly Raymond - and has gotten good ice time on the second and third lines and the second PP unit. He has looked good in those roles as well, and has been fairly successful with his move to wing, which shows some ability to adapt.

However, Kesler is back, Raymond is probably a month away... that leaves 10 forwards vying for slots in the top-9:

Sedin-Sedin-Hansen
Burrows-Kesler-Higgins
Booth-Malhotra-Hodgson
Raymond

Time will tell - if he can maintain a spot on in the top-9 and second PP unit, I think he's good for 35-40 points this year.

At the beginning of the season I was sure that Hodgson would be gone sometime this year, as a natural centre having virtually no shot at the top-3 centre positions. However, he has adapated well to the wing, and he seems to fit very well on either second or third line, he's a very intelligent player. Perhaps Raymond is the odd man out?
