Posted - 02/11/2012 : 09:19:42 I don't recall this, but apparently back in the day (2007), there was a rumoured deal that would have sent Gomez to the Wings, in exchange for......are you ready?.........Datsyuk!!! I read it in the following article (i've copied and pasted the actual part about it for those not wanting to read the entire thing.
http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/trades/2012/02/08/trade_deadline_deals_almost_happened/
Datsyuk the Devil? In 2007, there was much uncertainty when it came to Pavel Datsyuk and the Detroit Red Wings. Because of the low salary cap, the Red Wings and Datsyuk were in the midst of contract talks when a midseason trade rumour almost became reality. The deal would have sent Datsyuk to the New Jersey Devils for then talented forward and point-producer Scott Gomez. While this rumour sounds like a deal dreamed up by fantasy hockey GMs, it was reported as a nearly done deal by Fox Sports Detroit. Luckily for the Wings, the transaction never occurred. Datsyuk, of course, is one of the game’s best two-way players and a key component of the team’s Stanley Cup victory in 2008.
How crazy would THAT deal have been?? |

Keep it clean folks. Where Gomez is or is not from has nothing to do with hockey.
when i posted where he was from, it was to correct the guest and not in an offensive way.

Posted - 02/10/2012 : 18:18:27 And the next longest scoreless drought goes to George Parros, who hasn't scored a goal since his two goal performance on Deember 10, 2010, well over a year ago.
Wait - hold the presses! Parros has just scored!!
He figured if Gomez can score, so can he! |

Posted - 02/09/2012 : 22:22:39 Lol, game winner too!
That's gotta be a huge relief for him. Here's hoping Pasty and any other Habs fans in Montreal got a round or two for free? |
