I think it's a ridiculously risky move by Clowe. The Kings weren't even threatening all that badly on that particular rush. It looked like it was gonna be a 3 on 3??? Also, all 4 officials were either looking elsewhere or were too far away and prob screened by other players. It's far too easy of a call to make to think they would have turned a blind eye!!! The other thing that prob made it hard to detect was that Clowe barely touches the puck, in fact, just enough to slightly slow down Stoll, who actually intinctly regains the puck and moves forward with it before throwing his hands in the air in an appeal for a penalty! It was just enough to disrupt the play.
The more i look at it though, the more i see a potential 3 on 2 that was more likely to be a 3 on 3 as the forward who was backchecking Stoll was gaining on him rapidly. VERY risky move by Clowe which could have and def should have resulted in a minor penalty late in a very important game.
Not a wise decision by Clowe IMO and one he's lucky to have gotten away with. |

Posted - 04/06/2012 : 09:40:38 I don't believe that play is suspendable it should have just been called as a 2 minute minor for interference. I was watching that game and could not believe the referees did not call it clearly they would have seen it as it took place on the puck carrier. A play you don't see too often that's for sure. |
