Dale Hunter has either been fired or resigned as Caps coach. What is clear is that he will not be back next season.

Did you hear about the retired proctologist? He spent 40 years saying "what's a place like this doing in a girl like you?"

Beans I don't think so. The Sea Dogs will make short work of the Oil Kings.

As a matter of fact, he is actually going to coach the Knights at the Memorial Cup.

He can coach the Knights all he wants, the Edmonton Oil Kings are winning!!

Kidding aside, I respect Hunter a lot for making this decision when he did. As George McPhee stated, there is no grey with Dale Hunter. This way, they have a chance to find a coach before the draft and the GM and coach can work the entire off season to make the changes they need to step up the ladder.

Daniel Alfredsson is the MVP of the universe. All hail the Ottawa Senators!!!!!

I really think he did a pretty good job and should have gotten a long term contract if he wanted, but the bit I saw online said that he was fired. Go figure.

Pretty sure he was "stepping down". It's been rumoured all season that he wasn't interested in staying on as head coach as evident by the fact he didn't demand a long term contract when he accepted the position. He's got family / financial ties to the London Knights and apparently he plans on returning tot he junior club.
