Posted - 07/31/2007 : 13:38:00 Don't forget, stats are only used by geeks to compare one player to another. The only thing that matters in hockey is winning. Raycroft has 37 wins last year. That was top 10 in the league. I beleive that he did his job for the team, but the team wasn't that good.
However, I also think that Toskala is a better goalie that Raycroft. He wins more often based on the number of games he plays.

Posted - 07/31/2007 : 10:43:57 It wasn't always his fault and I do like him but with Toskala and Clemmenson and all this talk of Cujo do we really need him. It's probably better for him and us if we deal him away. He has no chance with Toskala around and Pogge to come. He was pretty good in some games but we should deal him away. |

Posted - 07/31/2007 : 10:35:44 Leafsfan_94 Toronto's defence wasn't all that bad overall infront of Raycroft. He was just really bad in net. Maybe it was nerves but I think he may have lost his touch.
quote: also he had won da rookie of they year and was in 2nd! for goals against average that year (GAA 2.05)
Look at the size of Raycroft's equipment compared to this years.

You can see diffrences in the size of equipment. Maybe he was like Jose Theodore or Nikolai Khabibulin, good goalies only with bigger eqquipment.
And if you still believe that the Leafs defence played bad infront of Raycroft read this:

This should put all believers in Raycroft to rest .
Second place is only first place of the losers. |

Posted - 07/31/2007 : 10:05:57 yah but i just said did u see the way the leafs lpayed infront of him. he had the 2nd best save of the year (its should be number 1) and he made alot of good saves. and when raycroft played great the leafs wouldnt so it wasnt all his fault. every1 is judging him by his bad games not his good games.

Posted - 07/31/2007 : 09:46:13 You call that season "great'? Honestly? He finished 32nd overall for goals against average . Keep in mind there are only 30 teams.. |

Posted - 07/31/2007 : 07:50:38 Pain Train, you've got to understand, no one wants Raycroft... Only teams to possibly pick him up are:
Phili Colorado Tampa LA Minnesota And that's all I can think of.
He's coming off of two pretty bad seasons so his value has significantly dropped. He is worth maybe a 4th pick or mediocre prospect. Talks of trading him to Pheonix for Nick Boynton have been around. That would be the very best we could get and I would take that deal any day. I HIGHLY doubt Pheonix will give up one of their only good young guys for a messed up goalie. He would have to be packaged up I think or else no one would want him... |

Posted - 07/30/2007 : 22:58:28 It's always good to have a one two punch in net. Toskala and Raycroft would be like Toskala and Nabokov last year.
But I would trade him, get one more forward and maybe a young d-man and they should be goodl.
And leafsfan_94 I suggest looking at the forum rules. Couple pointers in there that should help you out.
And I know I'm not a moderator just wanna help out as much as I can. |
