I think Oilers for sure or Ducks they did nothing and the moves they did weren't good.

I think Schneider is an okay replacement for Neidermeyer. If Big Bert is healthy he should do fine on their second line (maybe first). I don't think that there is much worry there.

And to the guest who thinks that Lunquist is the reason NYR had decent defensive stats last year. You may be right. I am a big fan of Lundquist my self, but I also think that Malik, Mara, Tyutin, and Roszival is a pretty decent top 4. There 5 and 6 might not be that great, but 1-4 is comparable with most teams in the league are they not??

If you are under the age of 15, please do some research before you make a post about anything pre-1997.

But losing Niedermayer and Selanne is a bigger hit than the gain...

Decent? Yes. Good? No. Great? Never.

That's why the other guest indicate that Lundqvist would have to stand on his head.

Compare their D to the O and there is an extreme unbalance on the money spent on O.

Is that stat attributable to their goalie or the defense? My opinion goalie.

The defense this year isn't an issue as much as next year. All but one of their defensemen will be a RFA or a UFA.

Phoenix stunk it up the worst. Please tell what they did right. I can't see any.

Dallas sucked too, no change in D which is fine but no upgrade on O, which is one of the league's worst. And they made a big fuss about re-signing Jokinen.

Buffalo, Ottawa, SJ and the Ducks didn't make any big moves but then they are so deep, they don't have to. They are still good teams.

Hope Lundqvist can stand on his head again cause his defencemen aren't going to help much. Sather blew his load on O and rather than O and D.

A lot of teams didn't really do anything except lose players such as Buffalo and Dallas. Oilers, Ranger and the Flyers had the best off season so far.

No Sacrifice , No Victory!
