Anyone hear if Gustavsson is back at practice/training camp or anywhere near seeing action in a pre-season game?

Supposed to be a minor surgery and typically an easy recovery, but when dealing with the heart, it's always scary....

Slozo....i did in fact read a few articles that mentioned that "groin" area insertion, interesting.

Beans....As common as it may be, it's still gotta be a little scary. Anytime you're dealing with the heart, it's obviously a touchy thing. Read one article that said there's a more serious version of what he had and that he was lucky it wasn't that. Hopefully this guy makes a full recovery.

Although I am no doctor, apparently there is a very large artery in the groin area that is actually the easiest route to the heart. My step-father had a procedure done the same way. Very odd.

From what Wilson said the other day, this is a common thing for athletes. Their heart misfires a little bit. So, the Dr sends a wire up to heart from the groin and zaps the misfiring area with electric shocks and basically kills the tissue. Then everything is fine again.

I doubt this will be a negative impact to this "monster". The only thing that will be a negative impact to him is Toskala. A bonified #1 NHL goalie.

By the way, where's Hanley???

Heard on the radio this morning that Gustavsson will rejoin the team today, although I doubt he will play tonight or tomorrow as the Leafs wrap up 4 games in 4 nights.

Did you ever hear the details of this heart procedure, btw? Supposedly, the 'correction' is made by actually making an incision in the GROIN area, I kid you not. I know you may be thinking that the groin is pretty far away from the heart, but that's what the medical team said . . .
