[br]Wonder how long les habs new GM will last if Price falters next season ? Halak, i think is worth his pay, he seems like a very solid goal-tenter. You can`t really - fairly compare him to the monster, $$$$ wise, Halak has proven his play for awhile now wheras the monster hasn`t really played many NHL games in his short career, who knows what he is going to do. The guy i pity in all of this is C. Price, sooooooooo much pressure on him next season. He is almost in a no - win situation, every goal will be under a microscope. He is in a situation where he has to be almost perfect every night to satisfy the fans, if he is not.....i think his Montreal career ( not NHL career ) will be a short one.

bingo cant say more than that hpefully the tandem Gms of mtl get fired soon ..... granted i do really like Lars Eller .. but this is Prices last dance in mtl!

Pretty cheap, if you ask me (going by market value, not actual worth) . . . I guess too many teams have gotten bitten badly lately by the big deal for an unproven starter.

I personally don't see Halak falling into that category, however - I think he's for real, and will in the future be Montreal's great regret.

Ya surprised he didn't get a Gustavssonesque deal $1.5 - $2.5 for 2 or 3 years, just to make sure he's the real deal.

[br]I like this signing for the Blues, its not Huet-sized stupidity, and not such a long term that if he falters he can't be traded or bought out if need be. A worthwhile salary for an up-and-coming goalie.

I'm still surprised that if this was all it was going to take to sign him that the Habs would not have preferred him over Price...

Kinda depends how he "falters" (if he does)? I mean, if he's brutal, not many teams are gonna wanna take on a 3.75M salary for a backup?

I think he'll do okay there and that in the end, the signing will have been a good one.
