Posted - 12/31/2010 : 13:22:29 Apparently, Maxim Lapierre asked for a trade in the beginning of last week, he was unsatisfied with his ice time (aka no more PK time).
He is said to have been traded to the Ducks, waiting for a confirmation, nothing on what Montreal would get.
What do you think? |

Only a rumor i read online from another sports site guest 4125...but they said Tor / Nj...some kind of package deal which involves Versteeg and T. Zajac.
The leafs are lacking big-time @ center ice but i don`t see how this trade helps NJ right now.....Versteeg is a great player but why would NJ part ways with their young center, thus hindering Kovalckuks play ? doesn`t make any sense.
Lou. Lam ain`t been noted to help any other team
Must have read that in a TO based online report. This makes zero sense for the Devils. Not only is Zajac a far superior player, but he is signed for a longer term and is less than $900k more in salary than Versteeg.
If this did happen, I would be convinced that Lou is no longer running that team. |

It may well be that Lapierre is a bit of a dufus, clod, troglodyte, jerkface, etc - but really, the Canadiens got very very little in return, for as someone mentioned - he is a solid third liner with upside.
Must be some dressing room issues, and certainly all the conflicts in the recent past cannot help. I wonder whose wife he was fooling around with? I expect a full report, Pasty!

Posted - 01/02/2011 : 17:08:23 Lapierre looks like a moron the way he smiles and makes faces at the other bench etc. I'm not surprised he would be moved I can't believe any other other team would want this guy?? |

Posted - 01/02/2011 : 09:30:10 heard yesterday on CBC that the Leafs had been contacted with a serious offer for Versteeg. any idea who that team might be and what they offered? |

oh theres nodoubt in my mind he's got game, and the return would be large, like top young player and maybe 1 or 2 picks i dont think that they've clean up that locker room mess just yet. |

Doubt he goes anywhere and i'd agree that Lapierre's departure solidifies his spot in Montreal.
If Lapierre was having that many probs with his own teammates over the years then i'm not surprised to see him go.
Pasty.....tough to judge this deal. Festerlings an undrafted guy who Anaheim invited for a tryout and eventually signed him to a deal, so there must be something there? Then again, he's failed to stick in the NHL and he is almost 25 (i believe?) so who knows. It seems to me that the Habs must have had a pretty good reason to get rid of Lapierre and perhaps this is the best they could do? |

it seem's p.k. isnt makeing many friends there
Moving Lapierre is proof Subban is going nowhere,,, Lapierre and Subban got into a fight in practice this is probably the team saying goodbye Lapierre so there is no more tension

the only thing i can think of is , there was a fight 2 years ago in practice , Lapierre vs. Komisarek same year Lapierre vs. Koivu, last year Lapierre vs. Cammalleri ,, tis year Subban vs. Lapierre ,,,,,, maybe it has something to do with something but i think the habs missed the boat on this one, i mean a solid 3rd line roster player for basicly noone who is sure to ever play in the NHL and noone who has any more upisde than Lapierre!?
