Nuxfan that head shot was on Casey Cizikas. The only reason ther wasn`t a call on that play is because our players don`t lie around the ice like a Harp Seal after an hit.
They get to their feet and play hockey, maybe he should have stayed down.....NOTTTTTTT............thats not our way, maybe thats why we win so often !!! |

Maybe next year the Swedes should keep their mouths shut and focus more on their hockey playing.
Why were they downing Canada all through-out the tourny ?? Before last year ( silver ) we won 5 straight gold medals and they showed our boys nothing but dis-respect in all their interviews.
Walk with the big boys before you talk with the big boys Sweden...serves you right.  |

that missed icing call was unfortunate. That sort of call happens in the NHL every so often - looks like icing, and then its waived off last minute - but I don't know if it happens very often in juniors? The Swedish goalie was pretty incensed about it in his post-game interview.
Also, what about the missed headshot on Kassian (I think it was Kassian) in the CAN/US game? Replay showed a clear headshot that should have been a match penalty and suspension, but no call. |

I agree nuxfan, that must have been the best period of hockey I can remember, also, any thoughts on the missed icing call in the Rus-Swe game?

Have to admit, i just voted during a commercial break in the USA / CAN game in which we're (can i say "we're" Beans? ) up 3-0 so between this lead and the fact that Russia won already, my vote my be a little unfair. I'd have prob said Sweden vs Canada, which i'd have loved to have seen (the rematch) but Russia / Canada is always fun!
Agree nuxfan, that first period was wild! The second isn't too shabby either! Campbell is keeping the Americans in this thing! That kid is "standing on his head" as the saying goes! |

man, the first period of the CAN-USA game might be the best period of hockey I've seen in any junior tournament. Intense!
