Now this is not confirmed but a friend of mine who is always well informed about the habs, just texted me "your boy is on the block" he knows Cammalleri is my favorite player so i give him a call and according to him and Jim Thompson Gauthier is fishing around the league with Cammalleri's name, Apparently Gauthier does not want to lose Cammalleri but he is their best chance for a return, and the habs need to add size and a top 4 d man now that Spacek Gorges and Markov are out for the rest of the year. I don't know what would be the return on Cammlleri as he has been hurt and production dipped the last two years granted with his 13 goals in the playoffs last year make him a valuable commotity to any team hoping to make a deep and fruitfull playoff run,,

Alex, that might speak more to the offensive juggernaut that is the Canucks this year, there are a lot of players that are high this year for the Canucks - even Raymond.

I follow the Habs a bit, mainly because of hockey pools, and it seems to me that they're getting scoring from all over the place, rather than relying on Cammarelli to do it all - balanced scoring is a good thing to have IMO. They have 8 players currently over 25 points - the same number as the Canucks. The Canucks players just have more actual points, due to the 50-ish more goals they have scored as a team this year.

As for Cammy - its just an off year, and he's had injuries which are difficult to come back from. I too think the Habs need a few more big pieces before they are serious contenders (big centre, more size on the wings), but they also need Cammy, hes a gifted goal scorer

Slozo, this was mentioned a couple days ago by the local radio guys here the day the Habs were in town. At the time, they said Mason Raymond (8th on the Canucks for pts) would be 2nd on the Habs! It's changed slightly now (he's 1 back of that spot) but that's crazy! Just how is Montreal doing it with limited offense and a depleted defense, not to mention a goalie who very few thought could handle the pressure / load?

couldn't agree more.. PG hasn't shown that he's interested in doing anything so far so if they win he most likely won't do squat.. which is a shame cuz the Habs do need a couple key things to win more. But I would love to see Cami stay for sure.

Well, Cammalleri's numbers have taken a serious dip this year, so I suppose any player underperforming is going to get his name mentioned, sure. 13 goals at this point (46 games) is totally unacceptable for a guy you bring in as a 25-40 goal guy.

He is a gamer though, and more importantly, Montreal continues to win, magically . . . I don't know how, other than to say that Price has been having an MVP season, but they still continue to win with a makeshift offence and depleted defence.

I'll say this: if Montreal loses tonight against the Leafs, and lose again Sat against Carolina . . . the pressure will mount much more on making a move. If the team keeps winning, I actually don't see Cammalleri moving . . . unless they get a really crazy offer.

Unless its for Richards and they're hoping that he'll be back in playing position by the playoffs.. I'd take Richards over Cami any day.. and I love Cami too

They've heard nothing of this, but that's not to say it's not going to happen. I'm guessing Montreal isn't going to be getting back enough on the back end to make a run in the playoffs? To bad, Mike's a dynamic on that team, especially in the playoffs last year.

Yeah tox it just doesnt make sense the guy is a gamer night in night out the retuirn would have to be big in order for me to be able to accept this as a fan,, did i say big i meant ridiculous,, like some sort of NHL11 trade...

Say it ain't so... not Cammy... he's my favorite player as well, and though he has had an off season they would be making a big mistake in getting rid of him. His season has been jinxed ever since he missed the first game of the seaon against the vile leafs. Next seaon he will be in top 10 scoring, lack of injuries permitting.

only reason Kessel isn't on the block is cuz BB knows that no one wants that tool
polishexpress Posted - 02/22/2011 : 12:06:12
I doubt Phil Kessel is on the block

I'm starting to wonder if there is anyone in the NHL NOT on the block...
