Crosby recently got angry at his game against Florida. I think it's ok that he fought, but right off the faceoff Mclean didn't have a chance at all. I think he should man up and give the guy a F****** fair chance.

Probably not the first fight at the drop of the puck, but it's still wrong.

Crosby is a whiner and needs an ass whipping of his own.

I never knew this was the first fight at the drop of the puck

But when Ovechkin blindsides somebody from behind, it is okay(done it at least twice now)? There certainly is not this type of reaction

Double standard.

Fair is fair. Fighting was never meant to be.

There's a line of respect which flows in hockey. It's diminishing more and more thanks to guys like Avery, but it's still there. You don't get the trash talking like you do in football, or the accusations about steroid use like in baseball, because there's some respect that flows around the league. That being said, very few fights are a personal matter. It's to give your team a spark, or get the crowd back into it. If you're going to fight, do it properly. Fighting on the ice isn't a street fight, there's no jumping people or curb-stomping them. Let the guy know it's coming.

OK so, if it makes you happy, we will just say he never did try very hard to get up, hehe.

This is for Hanley6 and is going to sound sarcastic, and it is meant to be, there is this new thing called Center Ice and some people actually watch the odd game on it.

only reason mclean was bleeding is becaues of crosby's nail extensions, crosby isnt tough...anyone can beat someone else up if the other person doesnt fight back.

Perhaps next time he will take the kid a little more seriously

Personally I think by the way he was laughing when he left the ice ... that he intentionally didnt fight after he agreed to thinking that Sid is a pansy ... guess the bloody head says otherwise

how do you know Crosby said "yes" were you there??????. there was no talking Mclean was looking down at the puck when Crosby attacked him while he wasn't ready and that's dirty. Enough said

hanley6, pay attention to the game, or shut up.Crosby was clearly talking to McLean as he skated to the dot. I guess Crosby should send him a text or email before the next game they play, just to make sure McClean is ready. Sid should kick his a$$ again next time they play.

Although I don't really like Crosby much, no one knows what was said all game and at the present time, therefore I don't think we should say he jumped him since no one really knows what happened, I like to see a little fight in Crosby every now and then.

If he had to take the abuse Crosby takes he would probably run home crying after every game.

I like what Crosby did. He needs to start using his stick more to gain space. He can't be protected because of the Gretzky rule so he should talk to Joe Thornton about what he did and said a few years back. He started giving everyone who tried running him a taste of lumber and then when the NHL suspended him he used the interview to state that from that day forward he would do whatever it took to defend himself. He has gained a lot of space.

Guest 4910 makes a good point that maybe Crosby should have let him stand up. Crosby did ask him to go and McLean said yes, but probably wasn't expecting to take a pounding like that.
hanley6 Posted - 01/04/2009 : 07:14:18
my point stands. Crosby is a dirty hockey player. He is a whining baby when he don't get his way, He can check you but he cries if you check him. And he''l give you cheap shots when you're not ready or not looking

Sid did ask him if he wanted to go, and he said yes. That said he could've gave him a chance to at least stand up. lol

Porkchop73 Posted - 01/04/2009 : 03:56:10
Sid was obviously fustrated with his team and the way the game was going. I think he was trying to spark his team but jumping a guy on the faceoff was not the way to do it. He claimed Mclean said he wanted to go. If Mclean said he would go and didn't then he was the coward, but if Sid jumped him without warning then I am sorry Crosby fans it was a bit cowardly. Crosby should be sparking the team with some inspiring plays not with his fisticuffs that is what Godard is on the pens for.

crosby is a wimp ( can be put in many other terms), and i hope that someone does the exact same thing to that punk and put him in his place.... does he think he is tough for doing that ? get a life bud... crosby is a bitch
