Which game would you most likely choose not to attend, even if someone offered you free/cheap tickets?
Pretend transportation and accomodations are not issues. Please explain your choice. |

Posted - 11/14/2007 : 13:43:48 I voted for the Coyotes VS the Blues. I mean, what does the Coyotes have to offer? Their best player, even these days, is behind the bench. I think Gretzky should lace up the skates and help his team out. haha. Why bother to go to the game, 98% chance you know who is going to win. heh.

you don't watch many vancouver games do you?
I watch between 15 and 20 Vancouver games a year. Beleive it or not, I am an Edmonton fan who also enjoys watching the Flames play. I don't like watching the Flames win, but I like watching them pla. Iginla is one of the best playes in the league, maybe the best.
Most, if not all Vancouver games are the same. You might get an exciting minute every 3 or 4. When the Sedins are on the ice. Other than that, the whole team is made up of 3rd and 4th line players. average PP(only because of the Sedins), bad penalty kill, less than 25 shots a game. That is not exciting hockey for me to watch.
Wayne or Bobby?? How about both!!! |

Posted - 11/13/2007 : 20:43:57 For the record, I would LOVE to see the Habs-Oilers match-up. Two of my all-time favourites since they met in the playoffs in 1982. I've never seen them play live. |

Oh God....Dallas vs. Nashville. I would probably rather watch a rugby match and I find rugby to be the most dull sport. Nashville since they lost Timmonen, Forsberg and Vokoun they have nobody. This might sound a bit rediculous but nice looking jerseys have something to do with how the game is portrayed to me.
You forgot about Kariya
I chose the Thrashers Vs. Wild, I can really care less who wins this game. Sure there is Kovalchuk and Hossa, but thats only on good nights. |

Posted - 11/13/2007 : 16:15:44 Don't get me wrong, I'd pay to see any of these games. Me in little old Saskatchewan where the "big game" is the Pats vs Warriors? Yeah, I'd go to any of them.
But there are some match-ups that makes me feel like taking a nap. This was inspired by the epic clash of the titans I actually watched a bit of last night...Columbus vs Nashville.
No offense to anyone who lives in those cities, but why? Why do you have NHL teams? Please send them to Winnipeg. Okay, just one. |

Dont know if I could say that the Edmonton Oilers could beat the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Oilers are in a rebuilding year and I dont think the Oilers would be able to beet the Leafs at the ACC.
Toronto only has one more win than Edmonton on the year. The difference between the two teams is 3 OT losses more for TO. I would think that is a closer game than you think. The Oilers are better defensively than the Leafs(in GA anyways).
Another big difference is that TO is not rebuilding, they are just not a great team. Plus, Edmonton has and is missing 3 of their top 6 defensemen(Souray, Pitkanen, Greene), and a call up Defenseman in Roy.

Posted - 11/13/2007 : 15:20:43 I'd be happy to see LA-BUF. Those are my two favourite teams.
Florida and NYI would be so boring. And as Beans said any team that plays the trap would also be boring. |

I can think of nothing worse than an announcer saying, "This will be a great matchup between Olli Jokinen and Miroslav Satan!"
Ugh.
If you go with that logic fly, I would never want to see Kings V.S. Sabres
Cammalleri and Vanek?
losers since 67 will have to wait another year |

Posted - 11/13/2007 : 14:30:42 I picked Toronto/Vancouver as I think both play very vanilla hockey. Bland, not a lot of flair. Few goals but even fewer chances.
Honestly, I think the worst games would be any combinations of:
Minnesota Dallas Vancouver NewJersey
All play very trappy, boring hockey. One goal leads with these teams are normally huge. New Jersey is not playing that well, but it's still their style.
Add in Toronto, because if I really want to see the, I just turn on CBC.

I'll take those tickets Fly.

Posted - 11/13/2007 : 11:42:48 Dallas and Nashville what a waste of a game, Id probably go just to see Marty Turco in net, but other then that nothing would interest me about this game other then id be watching an NHL game. It would be like watching a junior A team (nashville) playing a pro team (Dallas) I guess i would say theres not point in watching a slaughter on the ice.

the game I WOULD attend would be Edmonton vs Montreal.
-------------------------------------------------------------- 90s Hockey was the prime when they hooked. . . THEY HOOKED! when they Held, THEY HELD! The only time they got the gate was when the player ''fell'' on his ass. not this cheesey stick perpendicular to the ice, lets call it! |

Posted - 11/12/2007 : 18:26:24 Islanders-Panthers. When I watch a game (that dosn't have Toronto playing) I like to watch the right wingers from the other teams. Both NYI and Florida don't have any superstars (excluding Olli Jokinen) so it would be boring. They also don't have any really good RW to watch. |
