The number 1 support email we get is regarding goals. Here is an explanation of how goals work in the pool system...

Every goal by nature has primary attribute: Even Strength (EV), Power Play (PP), or Short Handed (SH). So no matter what goal occurs a player will get the points your admin alotted for that type. In addition there is a secondary attribute. A player would get additional points for the secondary attributes: Penalty Shot (PS) or Empty Net (EN). So therefore, the NHL classifies it's goals with 9 possible combinations:

EV
PP
SH
EV - EN
EV - PS
PP - EN
PP - PS
SH - EN
SH - PS

So the combination goals would give extra points. So if you don't want to give extra points for empty net goals or penalty shots then leave a 0 in the EN and PS box and they'll only get a point for the primary attribute. And if you want penalty shot goals or empty net goals to be worth more, then remember they'll get the primary attribute plus what ever you put in for the PS and EN.

So if it looks like we missed a goal, we probably didn't, it is more likely that your pool is set up that way.

Cheers!
