I suppose my memory of Grant Fuhr's performance in his very first Stanley Cup final series against the mighty Islanders has at times caused me to rate him higher than he should be, but the numbers here for his 1988 Vezina winning season say more about what an offensive era the 1980's were.

See I get where you are going with that statement, but I have to say I not only remember the New York series, but the other remarkable playoff series he played in including the Philly series in which one bad goal could have decided the series. It might have been a crap shoot to see who could score the most goals during that point in time, but when that one goal against mattered the most, Fuhr was the guy who showed up in the big games.
