Here is an interesting tidbit I recently heard. Apparently Lord Stanley himself never saw a hockey game. His son was a fan of the then new sport and asked his father to commission a trophy for the champion team. By the time the first Stanley cup was awarded Lord Stanley had already return to England.

Did you hear about the retired proctologist? He spent 40 years saying "what's a place like this doing in a girl like you?"
