Posted - 11/23/2008 : 22:12:54 Canada should have teams in Winnipeg, Quebec, and Toronto i guess, and take out s***ty American teams like Phoenix, Atlanta, Florida. |

I would try to get Winnipeg back but not Quebec because I don't like the Quebec team, the only thing I like about quebec is that Montreal's home team is around there! |

Posted - 11/07/2008 : 20:12:46 There is definitely room to support another team in south western Ontario and it would be great to see the # 2 team in Ontario in the southwestern area.
ohhh yes there will still be the Nottawa Senioritas but nobody really gives a rats a$$ about them.
Its our game and we need more Canadian Teams!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted - 10/29/2008 : 08:09:34 30-40% of the people in the seats in Buffalo are from the greater Toronto area anyway so in a sense Toronto is supporting 2 NHL teams already. (And if you count the number of people from Windsor who attend the Detroit games then the area is supporting 3 teams). |

Posted - 10/28/2008 : 14:26:50 Toronto could easily support another team financially but the tradition and history is with the Leafs. I think they should move the Sabres to Hamilton and make the Buffalonians cross the border to see hockey. |

Posted - 10/28/2008 : 14:13:33 Well I said yes because Toronto is not that great right now so maybe the other team will be better |
brentrock2 |
Posted - 10/27/2008 : 15:13:11 Well I did pick no because they would have to make a jersey,a symbol for the team and the colours to make a new team and it would take them along time to organize the new team. |

Posted - 10/23/2008 : 19:19:55 Toronto is a huge city, I definetly think they can put in another team. But the way that I see it as a Habs fan is that it's just another team for Montreal to beat.

Posted - 10/23/2008 : 15:30:05 It would definitely work. Toronto has one of the leargest, if not THE leargest hockey fan base in the world. The GTA alone could easily support another team.

Posted - 10/22/2008 : 13:02:18 I heard last night that they wouldn't put a team in Hamilton because it is to close to Buffalo so the fans that go over the border to see the Sabres might not in favor of with a Hamilton game.

Posted - 10/22/2008 : 06:50:57 Although it's all just speculation at this point and probably won't happen in the near future, a second team in Southern Ontario would make things quite interesting. I believe Hamilton should be the logical choice. If you move the Bruins to the Atlantic and take a look at a Northeast Division which featured Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, Hamilton and Buffalo, does that not sound ideal to NHL governors who in the last few years are all about rivalry? Hell, to play each other, they could bus the teams to each city like in the good old days. I'd love to have another team in Southern Ontario, but the problem with this is that unless an existing franchise is relocated, the NHL won't expand anywhere until they are certain that all 30 franchise are strong and stable. Looking at markets like Phoenix, Tampa, Nashville etc. etc. that doesn't look like it will happen soon.
I'm a Leafs fan first and foremost, but if there was a team in Hamilton, hell I've got my second favorite team. I would support them.
I'm not going to make too much out of this until Gary Bettemen steps up to that podium (on a step stool, of course) with the little NHL shield on it and announces that the league has granted an expansion franchise to Southern Ontario. |

Posted - 10/22/2008 : 00:15:33 Correct me if I am wrong but is it possible to have a second NHL team when you do not have a first NHL team?

Posted - 10/21/2008 : 21:49:27 Yeah, I heard that the team would play in the ACC just like the clippers and the lakers play in the same building.
I think a team would be most successful in Hamilton. Big enough city with a great hockey market. (Anywhere in Canada is) But it just doesn't make sense to have another Toronto team, but like Ron Wilson said, "if it brings half the media, then sure" |
Canucks Man |
Posted - 10/21/2008 : 19:00:41 Toronto could definatly support another team, but why not put one in Hamilton or Kitchener/Waterloo who could both supports teams over a second Toronto one.
