Well, let's see what kind of stones Bettman and the gov's have now. If this doesn't get you fired, I have no idea what will. Just thinking of how many games have possibly been "fixed" one way or the other, lends credibility to the sporting world that hockey, is nothing but a bush league run by bushmen. Reading the article, I did like the idea of a 3 body decision thinking tank, to have some sort of unbiased opinion when it comes to suspensions. |

I also can't believe how smug this guy is, that he can't even figure out how to permanently delete emails, or, just say it face to face. Unreal how power limits your thought process to the point of blatent stupidity. I hope it was the director of refs who hung him out to dry. |

Whoa!!!
That is the last thing I'd expect to hear.
There was once a license plate in Toronto that abbreviated "Go Leafs" it read "Golfs". |

And I am just catching up on this now myself, and boy, this should be the thing that brings down the house of cards . . . should be, but it might not be.
Colin Campbell has shown himself to be biased. He cannot be the top judge of officiating when he clearly has so many biases (especially considering his son plays for the Bruins now) and yet has the nerve to proclaim himself as not having any. This calls into question BIG TIME the non-suspension on Cooke's hit on Savard.
He should have been fired long ago, and if he doesn't do a forced resignation, he should be fired.
We all know the NHL too well, however, and I would not take any bets on the "right thing" happening here.
The NHL continues to look like utter buffoons and amateurs when compared to the big three other professional leagues, and will continue to look like it until there is some kind of accountability here among its leaders and management.
And to top it off, the media is 100% complicit to a large degree, as much as one can generalise a group like that. The ONLY reason the story broke was because of an independent blogger. The ONLY reason sports writers have been forced to address the issue is public outcry. And yet, there still remains a solid majority of Colin Campbell defenders among the media, especially TV. They have shown themselves (once again, it's not the first time) to be what they actually are: salespeople for the game - not reporters or commentators with any shred of integrity.
As a fan of the game, I continue to wait in hopeless despair for things to change. At least, the product is still good, however unfairly and biased the officiating and management of the teams and league are.
sigh.
