I can't believe this guy is still coaching the devils. I know its not totally his fault, but this team should not be as bad as it has been. They have to do something and getting rid of this guy is the only option they have.

He's not going to be in there much longer, I'd think.

The system has to change, becaus the players have . . . Kovalchuk isn't fitting into a defensive system, and frankly, shouldn't be - he's a dynamic, offensive player of very high calibre.

Two more losses in the next three games, and I'd say he's out. Because they are not firing Kovalchuk!

Team Injuries are the key reason the coach has not been fired yet.

While watching the Devils / Leafs game Thurs. night something dawned on me...The Devils aren`t so good as they used to be. I argued this point with some friends a few weeks ago.

My point was that people still look at them with a 26 - 28 year old Brodeur, but he is not. People still see those all - star defenseman who were there, but they are gone !!

The Devils team speed COULD NOT keep up with the leafs and this was very noticeable.

The days of a best goalie in the world, hands down, ( Brodeur ) and best defense pairing in the world, hands down, ( S.Neid - S. Stevens ) and massive tight checking, trap playing - J.Lemaire style team are gone.

New Jersey has NHL, just above average goal tending, a mediocre ( non - puck moving ) defense core, an aging, slowing foward group as a hole, except for 2 superstars, Koval & Parise.

This is New Jerseys problem, not John Maclean.
