Still a mystery at this point, but i'm not expecting to see Crosby again until next season.

Pittsburg may win this series without their stars but if they do thats as far as they will go...goaltending may be an issue for TB.

I think TB may take it, but this is one of the hardest series to figure IMHO, and could really go any which way.

Tampa has too many veterans, playoff tested ones like St Louis and Lecavalier, to fold too easily though . . . and I just fail to see where all the scoring comes from in Pittsburgh without the two main guys (remember, they are missing Malkin as well). Sure, the Lightning don't have an A goalie, and sure, the defence isn't great, or at least, not top notch. But I think it's plenty good enough to get by Pittsburgh.

TB in 6 or 7.

FYI - got a great tip last night from a guy I know:

His best buddy is a chirprocator in Toronto, and that chiro's got an office/friend beside him, he is a "cartilage" specialist - looking at cartilige, nerve damage, etc.

Crosby flew in to Toronto just a week or so ago just to see this guy, and then flew out. The word was that his injury was still bad, concussion still bad, and that the level of damage not encouraging. The quote was that the concussion was "worse than Lindros'".

Still hasn't taken a contact drill. He is weeks away at best, at worst . . . his career may be over.

Pretty scary stuff Slozo. Imagine a guy of Crosby's calibre being forced to retire at such a young age, from a hit that originally was misdiagnosed and didn't look half as bad as many others we've seen?

I know, Alex.

Even weirder, I find, is despite the apparent severity and how far away Crosby is from coming back . . . he still makes an appearance on the ice or two in non contact drills.

If he knows he isn't coming back in the series, could this be a psychological ploy for the opposition - make them think that Crosby might actually appear at some point?

I hope if he isn't 100 % he does not comeback and that means if he is never 100% that he doesn't come back, i love watching him play and he is an amazing talent but when you hear stories of guys like keith primeau that now in his young forties he can't stand on skates for more than 15 min and can't coach his sons hockey team you realize hockey isn't forever but your health is. I hope Crosby has a speedy recovery and is back to his dominating ways soon but untill he is 100% i hope he stays away from contact,, just ask Marc Savard what he would do if he could go back in time

See Slozo's 'great tip' makes me chuckle as do any replies to same.

No health care practioner worth their salt would leak such information to their buddies to have it posted on a site like this.

They would be before the chiropractic board so fast.

Anyway, bottom line is that Crosby's injury is frustratingly obscure. I kinda get the sense that he may still play a part in the playoffs, but who knows (certainly not a friend of a friend of a neighbor of a chiropractor)

I gotta agree with this to a certain degree. If this did happen and Crosby did see this 'guy', it's pretty easy to find out who leaked the information. Not only would the chiropractoer be in deep shlitze, but the nerve specialist who leaked the information would be in even deeper shlitze.

I have no doubt that Crosby's injury does have some significant severity to it. However, I find it hard to believe that information like this would be leaked. Even more surprising is that information like this would be posted on a site like this. I went to school with a former NHL who was in the league for 8 years. He told me worlds of stuff that I would never recite to anyone else let along post it on a website.
